　柏レイソルは15日、吉田達磨ダイレクターが来季より監督に就任することを発表した。

　40歳の吉田氏は、現役時代に柏、京都パープルサンガ、モンテディオ山形などでプレー。2003年から柏のユースコーチに就任すると、2011年には強化部長、さらに2013年からはダイレクターを務めていた。

　柏は今季17勝8敗9分けで4位に入り、来季ACL出場をかけたプレーオフに進出することが決まっている。

　もしかすると、「またJクラブお得意のGM降下人事か！」と見てしまう方もいるかもしれません。ただ、吉田達磨氏は基本的に現場肌。強化部に入ってからも、「いつか指導者の仕事に戻って来るだろう」という見方が周囲では一般的だったと思います。

　吉田新監督は1974年生まれの40歳。ダイレクターという強化部門のトップに就かれる方としては明らかに若いですよね。現役時代は東海大浦安高校から柏に加入。京都、山形に加えて、シンガポールでもプレーしています。個人的には山形時代のプレーを記憶しています。技術があって、プレースキックが巧みで、“意外に勝負強い”選手ででもありました。

　引退後は柏のアカデミーチームでコーチ職を歴任。特に酒井宏樹、工藤壮人、指宿洋史、武富孝介らの1990年度組は高校時代まで吉田氏が長らく指導した愛弟子たちになります。［4－3－3］のバルセロナ型のフォーメーションを愛好し、徹底してポゼッションにこだわるスタイルは、柏で指導を始めた当初は異端視されましたが、いまでは日本の育成年代で広く模倣するチームが出ています。そうした流行の先鞭を付けた指導者と言えます。

　育成年代とトップチームではまた違うので、昔やっていた形をそのままやるのかは未知数です。ただ、吉田氏のやり方は今や柏のアカデミーチームの全年代を通じたスタンダードとなっていますから、アカデミーのサッカースタイルをトップチームへ「持ち上げる」という珍しい試みになる可能性はとても高いように思います。
