U-15代表は地元フランスとドロー、1分2敗の最下位も「ベストチーム」の称賛（ゲキサカ）

　フランスで開催されている『バル・ド・マルヌU-16国際親善トーナメント2014』に参戦しているU-15日本代表は1日、大会第3戦でU-15フランス代表と対戦し、3-3で引き分けた。

　U-15日本代表が出場していた『バル・ド・マルヌU-16国際親善トーナメント2014』が閉幕しました。「U-16」というのは欧州風の呼び方で、実質は「U-15」の大会です。

　日本はオランダ、ベルギー、フランスという西ヨーロッパの伝統国と3連戦を行って、2敗1分。内容的には手応えもあったようですが、最下位に終わってしまいました。

　この1999年生まれの選手たちは、いわゆる狭間の世代。1年刻みで欧州選手権のある向こうの選手たちとは違い、アジアとFIFAの大会は2年に1度の開催ですので、U-15～U-17の年代で「勝負の大会」が存在しない世代になります。このため、どうしても世代として国際経験不足になりがちなので、それをフォローするために、こうした国際大会ごとに臨時編成のチームで参加しているわけですね。

　特に今年は一歳年長のU-16代表がアジア予選で敗退してしまったため、来年以降も含めてこうした取り組みは重要になってきそうです。この年代が4年後、U-19代表として、「2大会連続のU-20W杯出場」を狙う。そんな状況になってくれることをまずは期待しています。
