昨日(10/15)、天皇杯準々決勝が行われました。今回J論ではJ2同士の対決を制したモンテディオ山形に注目しました。

　Ｊ２山形は後半３４分に鋭いシュートで均衡を破った川西は、大盛り上がりのベンチに駆け寄った。

　モンテディオ山形が4試合すべて「1－0」という鋼鉄のスコアで、天皇杯の4強へと勝ち残りました。リーグ戦では36試合を終えてプレーオフ圏内まで勝ち点差『2』の8位という良いとも悪いとも言えない順位につけています。カップ戦と並行で戦うのは苦しいという見方もありそうですが、「勢い」という面で考えれば決してネガティブな要素ではないと思います。

　その山形を今季から率いるのは“ノブリン”の愛称で知られる石崎信弘監督です。かつてNEC山形時代の1995年から1998年までチームの指揮を執り、その最終年はリーグ戦で3位に入るなど弱小と思われていた山形を「引き上げる」原動力となりました。まさに山形で監督としての名声を手に入れた指揮官が、今年から「帰ってきた」形です。

　チェルシーに帰ったモウリーニョ監督などもそうですし、Jリーグだと鹿島のトニーニョ・セレーゾ監督もそうだと思うのですが、サポーターも含めた「クラブとしての信頼感」が最初からベースにあるため、変な喧嘩別れなどをしていない限り（ここは重要ですが……）、出戻りというのは、監督にとってやりやすいもののようです。

　石崎監督は2001年の川崎F（当時J2）監督時代に天皇杯4強まで進出し、2008年には柏の監督として準優勝を飾っていますが、いまだ優勝経験はありません。準決勝（11月26日）の相手は同じJ2の千葉、決勝の相手はG大阪と清水の勝者となります。もしも優勝となれば、山形のクラブ史に燦然と輝く快挙となることでしょう。

　ちなみに、今年の決勝はアジアカップ（1月）への対応のため、12月13日に開催となります。もちろん国立競技場は使えないので、会場は日産スタジアムです。
