Ｗ杯２次予選、Ｅ組に入った日本の展望日程と対戦国は「悪くない」組み合わせ(スポナビ)

　１４日、ＦＩＦＡワールドカップ（Ｗ杯）２０１８アジア２次予選（アジアカップ２０１９予選を兼ねる）の組み合わせ抽選会が行われた。日本は、シリア、アフガニスタン、シンガポール、カンボジアと同居するグループＥに入った。

　予選で何より大事なことがしっかり勝ち点を積み重ねることですが、その中で新戦力の積極的な起用は求められます。それが最終予選、さらには本大会につながっていくからです。

　ブラジルW杯で日本代表を率いたザッケローニ元監督もアジア最終予選こそ選手起用が固定的になりましたが、2011年9月から2012年の2月にかけて行われた３次予選（今回の２次予選に相当する）では清武弘嗣やハーフナー・マイク、乾貴士などフレッシュな選手を状況に応じて投入し、勝利に貢献するチャンスを与えています。

　ザッケローニ元監督の場合は新戦力を起用すると言っても、アジアカップを戦ったメンバーのベースはありました。一方のハリルホジッチは先日の2試合に加えて6月11日に予定される親善試合しか予選前のテストの場がありません。前回の招集メンバーもまだ見極めが十分とは言えない状況なのです。

　とはいえテストのためのテストというより、勝利を目指すための采配と新戦力の起用がうまくリンクすることが理想でしょう。ハリルホジッチ監督の手腕が問われるところですね。

　世界的にも強いチームというのは予選で勝利を目指しながら、そこに若手や新戦力のテストも組み込んでいくもの。レギュレーションがクラブのスケジュールを配慮した形に変わり、いわゆる親善試合は減少傾向にあります。その中で、可能性のある選手をしかるべきタイミングで起用しながらチームの選手層を膨らませ、時には主力に抜擢していく。そうした過程が重要になります。

　前半戦の結果により後半戦の起用法も変わってくるでしょうが、選手には公式戦の中でもチャンスを与えられる様に練習からしっかり取り組んでいくことが求められます。もちろんクラブで継続的に良いパフォーマンスをしていくことがメンバー入りにつながることは言うまでもありません。
