岡崎慎司（２８＝マインツ）が、アギーレジャパンの９月の親善試合２試合に招集されたことが分かった。１８日、マインツのクラブ関係者が「招集されている。慎司は代表戦に向けて（クラブから）オフをもらっている」と明かした。３１日のハノーバーとのリーグ戦を終えた後、日本に向かうことになりそうだ。

　実は前から「いいのかな」とは思っていたんです。南米の代表などがしばしばそうなので、ご存知の方も多いと思うのですが、いわゆる「海外組」が多い代表チームは、「海外組」の代表発表と「国内組」の代表発表を分けて行うことが珍しくありません。これは記事にあるように、15日前までに招集するクラブに対して通告する必要があるからです。

　クラブの立場になってみれば当たり前ですよね。代表に持って行かれることで使えなくなる試合があるかもしれないし、コンディションを崩すこともあります。そうしたリスクに対してあらかじめ備えておきたいと思うのは、当然のこと。Jリーグクラブが海外の代表に呼ばれる場合も、15日前に通告を受けています。

　もちろん代表監督の立場になれば、故障などもあり得ますし、半月もあれば調子の良し悪しも変わってきますから、15日前に代表発表というのは余りやりたくないのが正直なところでしょう。「しまったー！ アイツ絶好調になってるじゃないか！ 入れておけば良かった！」みたいな事態はありそうです。

　そうした両者の立場の折衷案として「15日前に通告」というルールがあります。これまで日本は「呼ぶかも！」という通知を15日前にやって、実際は呼ばないということを繰り返してきました。ただ、これだとやはりクラブの人は怒ってしまいますよね。海外のクラブに配慮する方向に舵を切るのだとしたら、それはそれで合理的な判断です。また選手にとっても優しいジャッジです。早めに代表行きが分かっていたほうが、いろいろと楽なのは間違いありません。

　とりあえず最初の代表発表は8月28日の予定ですが、「招集レター」に関する報道は止められないでしょうから、海外組の陣容は事前に見えてしまう形になるかもしれません。これはまあ仕方ないとあきらめるか、あるいは国内組と海外組の代表発表を分けて行うという形になる可能性もあるかもしれません。
