引退後は専ら指導者の道を歩んでいたわけではなく、ハリルホジッチの右腕としてアルジェリア代表のスタッフに入るまで目立ったキャリアは自身が選手としてデビューしたフランスのFCマントという下部リーグのクラブを率いたぐらいです。ハリルホジッチがアルジェリア代表に続いて連れてくるとすれば、そこで見せたコーチとしての手腕が確かだったということなのでしょう。
ただ、当然ながら日本のことに精通しているわけではなく、引き続きU-22代表の手倉森誠監督が兼任でスタッフに入るなど、柔軟なスタッフ編成にはなるはずです。
