レフティーの選手が右サイドからカットインして、左足でシュートを決める。イメージするのは簡単ですが、実際に決めるのは難しい。相手のタイミングを外せばできないこともないですが、「本田はカットインするパターンが多いぞ」と相手が警戒している状態ではシュートまで持ち込むことは難しい。瞬発力のある選手なら一瞬の加速で相手DFを強引に抜くこともできますが、本田はそういうタイプでもない。そうであれば、本田に必要なのは縦に仕掛けて右足で速いグラウンダーのクロス、もしくはシュートを放つという「おとり」が必要になります。
「縦にくるかもしれない」
そう思うことで相手DFは中のコース切りが甘くなります。
ミラノダービーで本田がシュートを放ったシーンでは、対面したドドのコース切りが甘かったのもあり、本田はうまくタイミングを外してかわすことができました。しかし、その後はきっちり対応されて抑えられてしまいました。
もし本田がドリブルを武器にしたいなら、右足で蹴るプレーを意図的に増やすことが必須になると言えるのではないでしょうか。
