1996年8月30日に生まれた選手です。その約1カ月前に、いわゆる“マイアミの奇跡”（アトランタ五輪初戦で、日本が奇跡的な試合内容でブラジルを破った試合）が起きていますね。彼の叔父である松原良香さん（当時・清水）はそのときのメンバーです。あれから18年が経っているわけで、私のようなおっさんは月日の流れを実感してしまいます。
松原后は元々パワーとスピードを備えたストライカーとして知られていた選手でした。日本サッカー協会のエリートプログラムメンバーに選ばれるなど早くから名前を知られていた選手です。ただ、年代別代表のレベルではFWとしては通用しきれず、センターバックにコンバート。その適性を探られていました。そのイロハは「（当時の年代別代表監督で、厳しい指導で知られる）吉武さんに叩き込まれました」と本人。
今年に入ってから所属の浜松開誠館高校でもセンターバック（3バックの中央）としてチャレンジしており、DFとしての経験値を蓄えています。182cm・75kgの恵まれた体躯に加えてスピードもあり、さらに左利きというのも魅力的な選手だと思います。加えて、ゴール前でのとっさの判断の良さも光ります。引用した記事にあるように、確かにDF歴の浅い選手には見えないでしょうね。課題は当然ありますが、「伸びしろ」も見えるスカウトに好まれるタイプの選手のように思います。
8月にはSBS杯国際ユース大会で出色の存在感を見せて、さらに評価を上げた印象もあります。そのときは大会でコロンビア、韓国、そして日本のU-19代表と渡り合ったことが自信になったとした上で、「プロの世界に飛び込んで、そこで競争に勝って、代表にも入りたい」と意欲を語っていました。ちなみに、磐田に練習参加したときは菅沼駿哉の強烈なリーダーシップに感銘を受けたとのこと。FC東京では誰のプレーから新たな気付きを得たのでしょうね。
